Over his three and a half years at PARTNERS, Matthew has developed particular expertise in school design and specialized knowledge in doors and hardware systems. His work as Project Architect on multiple Lake Shore Public Schools projects, including interior renovations, commons areas, and cafeteria spaces, demonstrates his ability to create transformative educational environments. His approach emphasizes client satisfaction and creating beautiful, functional spaces for users. Matthew's unique career path, transitioning from pre-med through computer science and teaching before finding architecture, brings diverse perspectives to his work. His particular interest in architectural history informs his understanding of building evolution and design principles. Outside of architecture, Matthew maintains active interests in woodworking and cooking, while dedicating time to family activities including chasing his son around and enjoying board games. His vision for designing a lunar base reflects his interest in pushing architectural boundaries and solving unique environmental challenges.
