Rodgers Elementary School shares an existing building that also houses the district’s central administration offices. In an effort to make room for a much-needed early childhood center and to provide enhanced community amenities, Rodgers Elementary School went through a dramatic transformation. In this first phase (of three), Rodgers received a new multi-function gymnasium, adjacent cafeteria and new full-service kitchen. The gym and cafeteria share a large dividable wall, that when open, allows for school-wide activities and gatherings.
Building-wide improvements revamped the learning environment with durable and well-coordinated finishes, resulting in a vibrant, exciting and invigorating atmosphere. New furnishings were also provided throughout the building for staff and students, supporting the District’s commitment to adaptable and flexible learning.
A new main secure entrance, new administrative offices and a large, welcoming entrance canopy greet visitors and provide an identity unique to Rodgers. These welcomed enhancements improve security and help newcomers decipher where Rodgers Elementary resides within this large building.
Outdoor spaces were enhanced through the transformation of the school’s courtyards, creating welcoming areas for gathering and learning beyond the classroom. A new shade sail structure enhances comfort in the outdoor environment, while the addition of a large overhead garage door creates a seamless connection between the cafeteria and courtyard, supporting flexible indoor-outdoor programming.
These improvements represent an important first phase in the school’s broader transformation, helping to create an engaging, modern environment that supports creativity, collaboration, and student growth for years to come.
