Lincoln Elementary School

Lincoln Elementary School's transformation established a new district standard as the first of three Van Dyke elementary schools to undergo comprehensive renovation. The project seamlessly integrates innovative learning technologies with sustainable design features, creating an interactive learning environment that extends beyond traditional classroom walls. PARTNERS' design incorporates educational demonstrations of environmental systems, including a rain garden that teaches students about water management and strategic daylighting that showcases passive solar techniques.

The renovation delivers nine new classrooms, a secure main entrance, media center, and gymnasium, while creating flexible collaboration spaces that support modern teaching methods. Technological improvements permeate the entire facility, fostering district-wide sharing and collaboration capabilities. The design treats sustainability features as learning tools, making environmental stewardship tangible for students and the community.

While preserving the existing building's structural integrity, the project significantly enhanced its functionality through new student resource areas and administrative support spaces. Site improvements streamlined traffic flow with reconfigured parking and separate zones for bus and parent drop-off/pick-up. As the inaugural project in the district's elementary school renewal program, Lincoln Elementary demonstrates how thoughtful renovation can create engaging learning environments that serve as both educational facilities and teaching tools for environmental awareness.
