A Revitalizing Renovation

The Roseville-Eastpointe Recreation Center expansion exemplifies how thoughtful renovation and addition can revitalize a community resource while addressing critical structural challenges. The 10,200-square-foot addition creates dedicated spaces for senior programming, including a welcoming central gathering lobby, fitness center, multipurpose room, activity rooms, computer lab, and game room. PARTNERS' design provides separate, distinct entries for recreation and senior center users, enhancing operational efficiency and user experience.

The project went beyond simple expansion to address significant structural issues in the existing building, including major wall and foundation repairs that required careful phasing to maintain facility operations. Large sections of the existing foundations and above-grade walls were systematically removed and reconstructed while the building remained in use. Site improvements created expanded parking areas and a new covered entrance canopy, improving accessibility for all users.

Interior renovations refreshed the existing spaces with new finishes, roofing, flooring, and gymnasium upgrades. The project's successful completion in four phases while maintaining full operations demonstrates PARTNERS' expertise in complex renovation logistics. Partial funding through the Competitive Grant Assistance Program (CGAP) shows how creative funding strategies can help communities maximize the impact of their facility investments.
