Echo Grove Camp – New Mervyn Price Chapel and Performing Arts Center
The New Mervyn Price Chapel & Performing Arts Center at Camp Echo Grove replaces an outdated facility, providing a modern, functional space to support the camp’s mission of fostering connection, reflection, and spiritual growth. Designed by PARTNERS in Architecture, this facility features a 600-person assembly space on the upper level that accommodates worship services, community gatherings, and other events central to the camp’s activities.
The lower level includes classrooms & meeting spaces designed for group discussions, workshops, and other programming needs, ensuring the new facility supports a wide range of uses. The chapel’s design emphasizes harmony with the natural surroundings, with views of the camp’s serene landscape. These elements create a welcoming environment that encourages inspiration and togetherness.
The design process required careful consideration of materials and layout to complient the surrounding scenic landscape. The use of stone, composite siding and shingles on a pitched roof matches the styling the majority of buildings on the property. PARTNERS’ thoughtful approach ensured the final structure meets the practical needs of the camp while maintaining a sense of tranquility and warmth.
The new Mervyn Price Chapel & Performing Arts Center caters to children, teens and adults offering excellent accommodations to best serve the needs of any program. It stands as the heart of Camp Echo Grove, offering a versatile, well-designed space that strengthens the camp’s ability to serve its community. This facility reflects the camp’s values and ensures its continued role as a gathering place for generations to come.
